Houston reigns Men’s Skateboard Street Champions clinches eight gold medal
In a span of 40 seconds each runs, Houston proved himself once again.
Thirteen medallist of X Gaames Minneapolis Nyjah Houston added feather in his cap as he fashioned out big air manoeuvres, initiation for barspins and grind a rail followed by nollies to bag his eight gold medals in the Men’s Skateboard Street Competition at (place), yesterday.
Keeping the rhythm from his second run down the stretch with his jewey baviers, grinds and barspins, he was able to take Kelvin Hoelfer’s back-to-back gold medal falling short in the third place with Jagger Eaton sealing the silver medal.
Houston cushioned on early meltdown to himself as he seemed to lost his usual composure committing two falls in the first run to post a 63.00 score.
However, second placer Eaton capitalized on a strong start after catapulting in the podium as first place with 85.00 as he executed a grind a kickflip followed by a nollie with no fouls.
Hoelfer then stormed out a nollie to grind in the last second of his first run leading the second placer, 89.66.
Entering the second run, Houston was able to do a typical Nyjhan doing Nyjhan things with his so called Tiger Mentality with 93.00 stealing the first place from Eaton in the podium.
On the other hand, silver medallist of last year X Games Alec Majerus seemed to lost his usual aplomb after falling from grind a rail in the 30th second mark of the second run falling to the last place.
Zion Wright of USA then conceded defeat breaking his skateboard in half after pulling off two consecutive falls in a span of 30 seconds.
Houston gave his all in his last run as he balanced his difficult tricks pulling off a run with no fall at all sealing the deal with a score of 90.33
Silver medallist Eaton and bronze medallist Hoelfer did the same routine committing a no-fall run with scores of 90.33 and 89.33, respectively.
